Non-Discrimination Notice
Our Commitment to Equal Access
Diabetic Discounts Network is committed to ensuring that every patient has equal access to insurance verification, supply coordination, and support, regardless of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state, or local law. Diabetes affects people across every community, background, and circumstance, and our services are designed to reflect that reality.
Nondiscrimination in Our Services
We do not discriminate in, exclude anyone from participation in, or deny benefits under any of our services on the basis of a protected characteristic. This applies to how we handle eligibility checks, supply requests, communication with patients, and coordination with treating physicians and licensed vendors.
Language Assistance
We recognize that language should never be a barrier to getting insurance-covered diabetic supplies. If English is not your preferred language, let our support team know when you call, and we will work to connect you with language assistance appropriate to your needs, including interpretation services where available. If you are assisting a family member or community member who faces a language barrier, our team can also work with you directly to help coordinate their request.
Accessibility for Patients With Disabilities
Consistent with our Accessibility Statement, we are committed to ensuring patients with disabilities have full and equal access to our services. This includes providing alternative formats or communication methods upon request, and ensuring our phone-based support serves as a fully accessible path to every service available on our website. If you need a specific accommodation to access our services, contact our support team, and we will work with you to identify an appropriate solution.
Age Should Never Be a Barrier
Diabetes affects patients of every age, from children managing Type 1 diabetes to older adults managing Type 2 diabetes for decades. Our eligibility verification and supply coordination processes are designed to serve patients across this full age range, including Medicare beneficiaries, Medicaid recipients of any age, and privately insured patients, without age-based barriers to service beyond those required by a specific insurance plan’s own coverage rules.
How We Handle Reports of Discrimination
If you believe you have experienced discrimination in connection with our services, we want to know about it. You can report a concern by contacting our support team directly using the information below. We take all reports seriously and will review the circumstances promptly, working to understand what occurred and address any issue identified in our own practices.
Our Relationship With Licensed Vendors and Providers
Diabetic Discounts Network coordinates with independent, licensed vendors and healthcare providers who are not our employees. While we expect the partners in our network to serve patients consistent with applicable nondiscrimination law, we encourage you to also report any concern involving a specific vendor or provider directly to that organization, in addition to letting us know, so we can factor that information into our ongoing vendor relationships.
Applicable Legal Standards
Our nondiscrimination commitment reflects applicable federal law, including protections under civil rights statutes that apply to organizations receiving federal financial assistance or operating in the healthcare space, as well as relevant state and local nondiscrimination requirements. Where our specific legal obligations differ based on the nature of our services, we aim to meet or exceed the baseline protections those laws establish.
Filing a Complaint
If you believe you have been discriminated against, in addition to contacting us directly, you have the right to file a complaint with the appropriate government agency. For matters related to healthcare discrimination, this may include the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights. Contact information for filing an external complaint is available through that agency’s official website.
No Retaliation
We do not tolerate retaliation against any patient who reports a concern about discrimination in good faith, whether that concern involves our own team, a licensed vendor, or a healthcare provider in our network. Reporting a concern will never affect your ability to receive our services or the quality of support you receive going forward.
Training and Internal Practices
Our support team receives training intended to help them serve every patient equitably, recognizing that diabetes management, financial circumstances, and communication needs vary widely across the patients we serve. We periodically review our internal practices to identify and address any unintended barriers that may affect specific groups of patients.
Changes to This Notice
We may update this Non-Discrimination Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will post the updated notice on this page with a revised effective date.
Why This Notice Exists as Its Own Page
We could fold this commitment into a broader policy, but we’ve chosen to give it a dedicated page because equal access to care is foundational to why Diabetic Discounts Network exists in the first place. Patients navigating diabetes management often already face enough barriers, whether financial, logistical, or medical. Our role is to remove barriers related to insurance coverage and supply access, not add new ones based on who a patient is or where they come from.
Working With a Diverse Patient Population
Our patient base spans every state we serve, a wide range of ages, multiple insurance types, and a broad set of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. We view this diversity as central to our mission rather than an operational complication to manage around, and we structure our intake, verification, and support processes with that diversity in mind from the start.
